Hello Homegrown Yogis!
You’ve probably seen this image before – by stepping out of your comfort zone, you step into the magic of your life. But how often do we really practice this? At least in my own life, not often. I have my daily routine and feel a sense of security and certainty in it. I do not think there is anything ‘bad’ or ‘wrong’ about being in my comfort zone. BUT… when I painted for the first time since elementary school last week, I realized what was so amazingly ‘good’ and’ right’ about stepping out of my comfort zone.
I have always said, ‘I’m not artistic.’ I opted out of all art electives in school and have moments of panic when I think about who is going to help my daughter with all her artsy school projects. So leading up to our first painting + yoga class at Lush Art last week, I was feeling some serious out-of-my-comfort-zone anxiety. What actually happened, though, was truly magical. First off, I had fun – like lots of fun. Like can’t wait to do it again fun! I also felt proud of myself for doing something that was so outside of my daily routine. I felt excited and creative – not just during the class and about painting. The experience made me excited and creative about my business, my teaching and my life. It’s true – by stepping out of my comfort zone, I found new magic in my life.
This month I challenge you to see what magic you can find by stepping out of your comfort zone. Better yet, we are giving you incentive to do it! Try out a yoga class that you have never attended before and share your experience on our facebook page to be entered into a raffle to win one of our new Homegrown Yoga tanks!
